Kill la Kill
Story: The first 14 episodes is about the story of a Rebel-girl (Ryuuko) who’s trying to avenge his father in one sophisticated way... She comes across certain adversities in order to reach her goal and find out what happened to his father, who murdered him, what was the reason behind the bluish talking sailor uniform (Senketsu) left by his father, and other things she doesn’t even know of. In other words, she is just looking for answers. In the process of all this , we get to see an epic twist by the second half of the series in which she (Ryuuko) realizes the person who thought was his father’s murderer ends up being her own sister(Satsuki), + she finally meets the real killer (Harime) and the purpose on meeting Ryuuko in person, also Ryuuko finds out about her mother( Kiryuuin) real ambitious plan which goes beyond what we could imagine, and as the story goes on , she even gets to find out the truth behind her own existence. That being said, there’s a couple things I realized watching KLK. Although the plot resembles an original story, I realized about the message this series is trying to prove along the real world and societies. But of course I’m not going to mention 1 by 1, go figure it out on your own. (8.5)
Animation: Retro-style animation which gives us a taste of craziness and fun at the same time. This shows what a studio is able to achieve when they care about their works. It’s worth mentioning the people involved in this came from a fan-boy studio known as GAINAX. Moving aside, the fan service level in this series was ridiculous but of course, this wouldn’t be a hit if it wasn’t for the fan service right? Everyone has an opinion…..(9)
Characters: Every single character on this is fucked up in a sense. I don’t even know what to think of or what could possibly make them different. They’re all crazy and they seem to like screaming all the time, not something I hate but it is really hard for me to describe them at least. They’re all crazy in a good way and I think that’s all you need to know for the sake of this review lol. (7)
Sound: What could I possibly say about sound? It’s just the average I guess, starting for the sounds effects which seem to be decent for a Shounen-Action anime. I like the first opening song but the rest meh. It ain’t bad, it’s just decent enough for entertainment. (7.5)
Final Thoughts:
Honestly speaking Kill la Kill is an overrated anime but fortunately it managed to impress me by the last episodes. It seems to me this could’ve been genuinely better but for the average viewer I’d say is great. It’s good to point out how the story unfolds since I didn‘t have a fuckin’ clue what was going to happen every “next episode” due to the craziness involved and that’s always a PLUS for me and the audience in general. Good Job TRIGGER, you managed to keep me entertained until the end.
Overall: (8/10)
