I Know I've ignored her till now, but this girl is totally hot! — Raku Ichijou
Romantic comedies like any others…
Story: Nisekoi is about a romance-comedy story about 4 girls and 1 guy. The story follows the childhood love of this male character in which apparently he made a promise with a cute girl when he was kid but now he forgot the name of such person and suddenly he decides to find the person to acknowledge the forgotten-love or promise as some might say which is embedded in one pendant and a key with the ultimate goal to get married with the “chosen” one. The plot is not necessarily something new or out of this world. We have the typical romance story in which 1 girl will conquer the boy’s heart by the end. SPOILER ALERT btw lol. I could care less about the plot. (6/10)
Character: Now this where Nisekoi is good for. As I mention before, I could care less about the plot. The reason why I enjoy this anime genre is because of my interest on the dialogue and feelings involved in which this series has a strong potential because of the cast. Having said that, the seiyuu’s demonstrate once again why Japan is best on what they do. Starting from Kouki Uchiyama as Raku to Kana Hanazawa as Onodera (# teamOnodera). Each character is unique, charming and enjoyable. I don’t think I need to mention Kana outstanding performance when it comes to passive-moe girls. It’s too ez to fall in love with her. No wonder why many girls hate her xD (10/10)
Sound: ClariS made it for me. I’m a huge fan of these 2 girls and even though some of their songs might sound repetitive, I still love them. As for the ending songs, meh they sound ok I guess. Props to “Trick Box” tho since is catchy as hell. (8/10)
Art: ladies and gentlemen, SHAFT is involved in this series. Do I need to say more? I doubt it. (9/10)
Final Thoughts/Enjoyment:
I enjoyed the season just because of the art and seiyuu performance in general. Well, I’ve heard SHAFT was making this before the official announcement and Claris was going to sing the OP’S so that’s a +. Do I want a second season? Yes why not, there’s always time for your lovey-dovey dose (#TeamOnodera lol)
Overall: (8/10)
Note aside: This is going to be my first and final review when it comes to romance-school-comedy animes. I’ve got to be honest with you guys but nothing will beat Toradora! If you have seen Toradora, I’m afraid to tell you that you’ve seen it all.
(in terms of genre, writing, place, music and beyond). PZ
